What You'll Learn
Program Description:
Diet is a key determinant of gut microbiome composition and function. This may be especially pertinent for supporting better tolerance and health outcomes in pediatric and adult patients receiving enteral nutrition. Join our panel of clinician researchers as we review key dietary influences on microbiome health and implications the evidence has for enteral feeding, focusing on formula components.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify dietary factors that contribute most significantly to the health of the gut microbiome.
- Describe microbiome alterations in hospitalized patients and the impact of formulas with real food on GI symptoms in the pediatric acute care setting.
- Discuss recent evidence on blenderized tube feeding, the microbiome, GI tolerance, and practical applications for the post-acute care space.
